چکیده

We study the response of a highly excited 1D gas with pointlike interactions to a periodic modulation of the coupling constant. We calculate the corresponding dynamic structure factors and show that their low-frequency behavior differs dramatically for integrable and nonintegrable models. Nonintegrable systems are sensitive to excitations with frequencies as low as the mean level spacing, whereas much higher frequencies are required to excite an integrable system. This effect can be used as a probe of integrability for mesoscopic 1D systems and can be observed experimentally by measuring the heating rate of a parametrically excited gas.

Transport in quasi one-dimensional spin-1/2 systems

We present numerical results for the spin and thermal conductivity of one-dimensional (1D) quantum spin systems. We contrast the properties of integrable models such as the spin-1/2 XXZ chain against nonintegrable ones such as frustrated and dimerized chains. The thermal conductivity of the XXZ chain is ballistic at finite temperatures, while in the nonintegrable models, this quantity is argued...

Sound Wave Propagation in a Multiferroic Thermo Elastic Nano Fiber Under the Influence of Surface Effect and Parametric Excitation

This study investigates that the sound wave propagation of multiferroic thermo elastic Nanofibers under the influence of surface effect and parametric excitation via Timoshenko form of beam equations. The equation of analytical model is obtained for Nanofiber through shear and rotation effect. The solution of the problem is reached through the coupled time harmonic equations in flexural directi...

Dynamical simulation of integrable and nonintegrable models in the Heisenberg picture.

The numerical simulation of quantum many-body dynamics is typically limited by the linear growth of entanglement with time. Recently numerical studies have shown that for 1D Bethe-integrable models the simulation of local operators in the Heisenberg picture can be efficient. Using the spin-1/2 XX chain as generic example of an integrable model that can be mapped to free fermions, we provide a s...

Numerical Simulation of a Solitonic Gas in Some Integrable and Non-integrable Models

The collective behaviour of soliton ensembles (i.e. the solitonic gas) is studied using the methods of the direct numerical simulation. Traditionally this problem was addressed in the context of integrable models such as the celebrated KdV equation. We extend this analysis to non-integrable KdV–BBM type models. Some high resolution numerical results are presented in both integrable and noninteg...

The Response of Two-Degree of Freedom Self-Sustained Systems with Quadratic Nonlinearities to a Parametric Excitation (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this study the interaction between self-excited and paramet rically excited oscillations in two-degree-of-freedom systems with quadratic nonlinearities is investigated. The fundamental parametric resonance of the first mode and 3:1 internal resonance is considered, followed by 1:2 internal and parametric resonances of the second mode. The method of multiple time scales is applied to derive f...
